TERA: The Exiled Realm of Arborea will be released 2012 as the unofficial successor of Lineage 2.  The open beta begins early that year.  The game is supposed to be a “True Action MMORPG”.  We’ve went out of our way to figure out what that means for you.  It’s a matter of course that we’ll be one of the first to offer TERA Gold and TERA Leveling.  And here’s our exciting TERA Online preview!

If you count up all the MMO releases that have not been able to dethrone the King of MMOs since WoW’s appearance, it’s easy to see what a great hit World of Warcraft really is.  Bioware and LucasArts have been working on their own possible hit MMORPG for quite a while now and they too have a lot of respect for WoW.  The reason why “Star Wars: The Old Republic” (which is planned for released end of 2011 or begin 2012) could have what it takes to be the “WoW killer” can be read in this newsletter!

“Star Wars: The Old Republic” will be a gigantic gaming success, we’re willing to bet on that.  Why?  Because a new, successful, and enthralling SciFi MMO is long overdue (Star Trek Online’s time in the spotlight was unfortunately short-lived), because the Star Wars universe is more than well-suited for a diverse and story-based gaming word, and also because everything we’re seeing from SWTOR now looks pretty damn good.

Some aspects that SWTOR learned from WoW are surely the class, race, and battle systems.  The latter is, like in WoW, strongly dependent upon rote usage of skills.  However, battles appear to be set up much more dynamically in SWTOR.  The focus of the game is in a continuous, enthralling story (much more so than it is in WoW).  Moral decisions on the gamer’s part that are made through dialogues are said to have an effect on the story and even more so on the development of your character!

Dialogues with full audio as well as companions with a noticeable will that only stay at your side if they like your decisions are definitely innovative in our book.  In Flashpoints (Instances) your companions can take the place of missing gamers; you can fully equip them, determine what skills they use and when they use them in battle, not to mention you can acquire special companion skills.  It’ll get exciting to see what the possibilities are when your char acquires a space ship that is suitable to his class …

And what classes will there be anyway?  There will be Troopers, Smugglers, Jedi Knights, and Jedi Consulars fighting for the Galactic Republic, and Bounty Hunters, Sith Warriors, Imperial Agents, and Sith Inquisitors fighting for the Sith Empire.  Every class will have two specializations to boot.  A large number of various races will also make the class selection even more interesting.  More to that as well as the story behind the game (that unfolds approximately 3500 years prior to the story laid out in the famous movies) soon in our preview.

They’ve been shouting it from the rooftops for a while now.  Rift: Planes of Telara is a brand-new massively multiplayer online role-playing game that is set for launch.  The game is currently in the middle of beta sessions, and is leaving behind amazingly neat and completely atypical beta impressions.  It seems incredibly perfected and bug-free.  At least regarding graphics, they took their time and made it aesthetically pleasing.  Another unusual aspect is the fact that the game does not eat up all the system’s resources despite being graphically beautiful.  The game is also chocked full of familiar MMOG elements… At first glance, Rift seems to have everything required to lure in a giant gaming community. (The main currency in Rift is called Rift Plat or Rift Platinum btw!)

It remains to be seen whether Rift can continue to gather ideas to focus on a grandiose entrance into the MMOG world…. There are a few careful estimations regarding this.  If your question is whether Rift has what it takes to be a “WoW Killer”, then we can’t really answer that (though we have our doubts).  See for yourself in our preview.
